‘snow shoveling’ redefined
I was in my home-town Puchenstuben, located in Lower Austria (about 900 meters sea-level: google maps) yesterday to help my parents shoveling some snow; it is a record winter – even people that grew up there and have lived there for more the 60 years say they can’t remember to have seen that much snow ever. Schools were closed, some people did not have electricity for some days,… volunteers from all over the district came together and helped to shovel the snow off the roofs to prevent the buildings from collapsing. It is common in the areas of the higher alps to have a lot of snow, but not in this area of the country. Gosh, I wish I was a kid again, digging tunnels all day :)
